BUSY, BUSY

The last few months have been so crazy! We were sick for the whole month of September. It started off with a stomach virus that had our whole family puking (except for Brent who always manages to stay healthy!) I puked on myself at work, so embarassing! Then a few weeks later I woke up peeing blood and had a killer of a urinary tract infection! Then Caleb had an ear infection, Connor had green crud coming out of his eyes, and we all got nasty colds, etc., etc.! I vowed never to leave my house and go out in public again!

And when we were all healthy I drove Brent crazy and decided I had to reorganize the whole house before the baby comes! He thinks I am a crazy irrational lunatic but he has no clue what it is like to be pregnant woman and get the "nesting instinct"! We cleaned out our basement and put new shelves up. I got new closet organizers for every closet. I reorganized the kitchen. Got new furniture in my dining room (well new to me, but it was my uncle dick's who recently passed). We also got new furniture/bunkbeds for Connor/Caleb's room. We had a project to work on every weekend and honestly now I don't want to ever reorganize this place again. I did manage to make room for 5 people and a dog in a 1500 square foot house, it can be done! Thank god we have a half-finished basement to put all the toys in!

On top of all of this, I still wanted the family to have fun, so we had some sort of event planned every weekend! And I wonder why I am so exhausted all the time? We went to the zoo 2 weekends in a row. Once with my mom, stepdad, aunt melissa, and uncle ryan. My favorite was the baby elephant who is adorable and the kangaroos, which you can actually walk through the exhibit and the kangaroos just hop around you! We got really up close to a sleeping kangaroo! Then the following weekend was boo at the zoo and the boys got to wear their costumes. Connor was super excited because he was dying to wear his bumblebee transformer costume somewhere. Now he wants to got to the zoo every weekend and was even making plans for the following weekend. Sorry Connor, I am all zooed out now!

We also went on a family outing to pigeon roost farm where we went on a hayride, pet some animals, did a corn maze, etc. The boys loved the bunnies, they were really cute and I kind of wanted to take one home. But, we don't need anymore people or animals in this house! Caleb had just started walking when we went here. It was so cute, he was walking all over the place and having the time of his life! He gets a big grin on his face when he walks and you can tell that he is proud of himself. He is such a sweet little guy!

Brent and I also got a chance to spend some quality time with each other, just the two of us, no kids! This is a rarity! We went to the OSU v Minnesota game. My 8 month pregnant butt had to climb up all the way to the top of the stadium! I thought I was going to pass out and could not breathe! We left at halftime because I was freezing my butt off and had to pee. I didn't think I would be able to make it back up! Then we went to Thurman cafe and Brent did his own little man vs. food challenge and ate a whole Thurman burger. I was stuffed after eating just half of one!

Now I just need to get ready for chirstmas....I better go get some shut-eye :)

Fall is meant for playing in the leaves!

What better joy is there than being a kid and jumping in a big pile of leaves? This is what life is about! Oh, to be a kid again! The pictures say it all!

Why did I decide to blog?

Why am I blogging, you may ask? Well, for starters I think this is the best way for me to keep a record of my kids' childhood. I hate filling out those stupid baby books and can never keep up with them. Do I really care what month each individual tooth came in and in what order? Do I really care when they got what shot and where? They will be fully vaccinated children, and the pediatrician has it on record to prove it! I find those books extremely tedious and annoying!

I also hate scrapbooking! I save artwork, personal momentos, and put it in a big plastic bin. I am not going to cut it up all pretty and put it in some stupid book. I am glad to have boys, because they will never ask me, "Why didn't you make me a scrapbook? Why didn't you put that in my baby book?" Luckily, boys do not care about these fluffy, tedious things. Maybe I am just meant to be a "boy mom"

One thing I do enjoy is wasting hours on the internet. The amount of my life wasted away on facebook could also be used for blogging. The boys are growing up so fast, doing new stuff, and Connor says some new crazy thing everyday! I do want to be able to look back and remember these times someday! So mostly I am doing this blog for me. If you think blogging is stupid and don't want to read about my boring life, well don't then. I won't be offended!
